CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

CBT stands for “Cognitive Behavioural Therapy” and is a psychological technique that is very helpful for common conditions such as depression, anxiety and stress management. It is based on the idea that people can modify the way they think about things by challenging their negative automatic thoughts such as catastrophizing,  black-and-white thinking, mind reading and over generalising, just to name a few examples. It also encourages people to challenge their overall belief system through by exposing themselves gradually to feared or challenging situations. It is a psychological approach which has been very well studied and there is much evidence for its effectiveness in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
